MDF expanded Education Support Fund to 730 Students

The Maikaya Development Foundation has significantly expanded its footprint in Nasarawa State’s educational sector, providing scholarship grants to 730 indigenous students in its latest round of disbursements. This intervention, which ensures each recipient receives at least ₦25,000, marks a substantial increase from previous years and serves as a cornerstone of the foundation’s decade-long commitment to human capital development. The rapid scaling of the program; from 375 beneficiaries in 2024 to 625 in 2025 and now 730 in 2026, reflects a deliberate effort to meet the growing needs of students facing financial barriers to their education.

This steady growth is a testament to the deep-seated resolve of MDF to ensure that financial barriers do not halt the academic progress of the state's youth, truly embodying the foundation’s core ethos of leaving no one behind.

This educational drive is part of a wider, integrated social development strategy championed by the foundation’s CEO, Alh. Dr. Muhammed Maikaya. While the scholarship program provides immediate relief for students, it is deeply rooted in the foundation’s broader ethos of fostering youth empowerment, supporting women, improving healthcare access, and promoting peaceful co-existence across the state. Dr. Maikaya, known for a leadership style that prioritizes empathy, service and taking action, has consistently maintained that even modest contributions can fundamentally alter the life trajectory of a young person in need.

By aligning its initiatives with the developmental goals of the state government, the foundation seeks to build a resilient and educated generation capable of sustaining long-term prosperity. Observers of the foundation’s work point to Dr. Maikaya’s belief in inclusive growth as the primary driver behind these consistent acts of humanitarian service.
